New play in Sudbury, Ont., tells story of the city’s most vulnerable, in their own words

A new play called City Medicine is showing four nights a week in Sudbury at YES Refettorio outdoor theatre in downtown Sudbury. The play features a series of monologues and vignettes that tell that story through the perspectives of people who use drugs, their loved ones and even an outreach worker frustrated with a political system that they believe doesn’t properly address the crisis.

 

After overdose calls surge, Winnipeg fire-paramedics to use medication that halts opioid withdrawal symptoms

A very positive move forward for Winnipeg paramedics. They will now be able to treat the severe and sudden withdrawal that life-saving naloxone starts. The majority of people in severe withdrawal immediately start looking for more drug to relieve their pain.
