MP Tochor Introduces Bill Allowing New Mental Health and Addiction Treatment

How about we thoroughly study this psychedelic drug first and let the experts decide if it is safe and effective to use for addiction and other mental illness treatment? Do we really trust politicians to make these decisions based on anecdotal reports from constituents? We have expert panels in place already.   Politicians will be the first to blame Health Canada if it turns out this treatment is not as entirely benign as they say.

We need compassionate intervention but NOT at the expense of voluntary treatment beds! And please note that Alberta is specifically NOT tracking wait times for voluntary treatment beds. They have however funded an additional 10,000 “addiction treatment spaces.”  But do we believe that?
