CAMH research drives rapid practice change to improve opioid treatment for people at highest risk

Great news! Getting on Sublocade, a monthly injection of Suboxone to treat opioid addiction, is now easier. Sublocade, can now be started one hour after a dose of Suboxone under the tongue. This means patients who want the convenience of a monthly injection can receive treatment right away. Health Canada has approved this rapid start, giving doctors support for changing ER practices immediately.

 

First in Quebec program lets mothers undergo addiction treatment without leaving children

Portage, a long-running addiction treatment centre in Montreal, has a new program for 21 mothers to live communally with their children while undergoing intensive addiction treatment.
